The 22.5 Alcoa rim setups (with aapters) have been around awhile and run a cool 3grand or more.

I found a semi-tractor trailer parts shop in my town which has various used Real big truck wheels for much cheaper ($50-100 a rim) should I just buy some adapters and save the dough on the shiny alluminum?

I know the 19.5's will fit easier on my 97, however what is required (liftwise) to SAFELY fit the
22.5's on my 2WD DRW 3500?
Please keep in mind I tow alot of weight often and want functionality over looks

IOW: I wouldent mind getting 200k out of some commercial tires on my RAM and some White or black Accuride Steel 22.5 Semi wheels from that yard!

If they work weightwise for a school bus...with the 10 to 8 lug adapters that are like $600 they should do the job on my 12V Right? You tell my why not.

That way I can run the commercial tires and get almost 200k miles out of them and save thousands on wheels right?

mo get used alcoa's 6 OF THEM. i would not recomond running steel inners as they are heavy as amofo. i ran the americanforce kit with 22.5 on my 99 with a 2inch leveling kit up front. its alot of weight and mass to move. so ill be the first to just give you the heads up. you can get the adapters for as cheap as 450 i have heard but you would be saving some money, only other expsensive piece would be the 255.70.22.5 tires. they ARE pricey. gl-scott

Have them on mine and love them! I would wear a set of mudterrains out in 30,000mi. Had mine on since Christmas and still look brand new. I went with steel inners because everyone I talked to told me would hold it better, I pull close to 23,000lbs on the weekends (everything included). I have the 255/70/22.5 with just 3" leveling kit on the front no rubbing. I lost alittle power on bottom due to gears but once shes movin she movin (3.55s).Any other ?s just ask.
